Ardfert Cathedral

Located in the town of Ardfert this cathedral is built on the ruins of a monastery founded in the 6th century by St Brendan the navigator. Very extensive ruins survive which date from the 13th to 15th centuries. The roof was destroyed during during the Cromwellian invasions in 1641
